input voltage question

i recently bought a fosgate 9420 head unit; the one with the 8 volt pre-outs. my amp is a bd1000, but the max input voltage that it calls for is 6 volts. am i going to have a problem running that amp with that HU or will it be fine?

good question, i would try it out but turn the gains all the way down to start out. run the amp somewhat hard and check for any clipping and excessive heat.

i'll try that. hopefully it will work. the amp might like it just fine

when your volume is lower, your voltage is lower. meter your hu outs set your max volume to when they show 6 volts.
