Guys,

What is the biggest power wire made?? Is 1/0 the same this as 0 gauge??? Im goin to update the wires on my ride. gonna be runnin a saz 1500d with 2 12" DD 3512's... Car is a 99 grand prix.... Going to update the big 3. Trying not to add a second battery.. Under the hood is an optima red top.... Just wondering what size wire i should use... and if anyone has any exerience with where i should ground on this model car...

Thanks in advance

first 1/0 and 0 gage are the same. the largest i have seen used in a car is 4/0 but i would not use any thing bigger then 1/0 gage. 1/0 gage car audio wire from most companies is relatively easy to work with unlike most welding wire which is very large strand wire and difficult to work with. if you really want less resistance from front to back then i would just do multiple runs of wire. I use Knukonceptz and love it, there 1/0 is equivalent to 2/0 awg.

1/0 and 0 are the same, 1 and 0 gauge are not. Knukonceptz and Kicker are best known for the flexibility of their wire, and there are kinds of welding wire available that are just as flexible as most audio wire.

1/0 = 0 awg

4/0 is common in welding wire, just make sure it has a high strand count so it stays flexible. It has double the current capacity of 1/0 wire.

86 the Redtop and go with a better battery. Any of the Group 34 offerings from the following companies are sure to be a big boost to your system:

Deka

Odyssey

Stinger

XS Power

Hawker

stinger makes oval 3/0 its has 6000+ strand count. it is supposed to be pretty flexible too. welding wire is what I'd reccomend tho, its usually pure ofc and is you can twist it and bend however you want. memphis almost makes amazing wire now.
