its for a friend...he said he could spend around 200-300 bucks on subs...they were around 70 at circuit city so i told him id check them out....he's a begginer tho so it wont take too much too amaze him.....
I have 2 12's in a sealed box,if you're looking for major "boom" these subs are not for you. They do hit very hard and do a pretty good job on low notes too, just not the greatest on SPL.Geared more towards SQ.Another note is they dont require a whole lot of power to make them sound good.
$200-$300 bucks on subs? how about a pair of Adire audio tempest box will take up about 6 cubic feet though (total; they are 15" also). too much for your friend? then a pair of adire audio shiva (12" version of tempest but will take about 4 cubic feet sealed total). Loud? yes. sound quality better than infinity reference? oh yea.. also they are more efficient than the reference. that means it won't take much power to get them moving.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
yeah...ive herd nothin but good stuff about adire audio....but im thinkin about helpin him with a sub that i can hear first....i have no clue where to listen to adire audio subs....i mean rockfos and mtx's are at circuit city and stuff like that...
there aren't many adire audio retailers around.. true that u should listen to a sub before buying them. then again..a showroom doesn't have the same acoustics as a car. what sound good in the store might sound poopy in a car. if i had 2 subs running (shiva and punch HX2), and i letted 10 people hear them. i would say AT LEAST 8 out of 10 people will like the sound quality of the shiva more. unhappy with them? they have a return policy that is good for 30 days (i think). but i doubt you can find anything that has better mix of sound quality and SPL (and value) at circuit city and those chain store.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
