In theory , how will this sound ?

Hey guys , I'm doing a small build for my daily( 2015 Hyundai Sonata ) and I'm curious how people think this will sound . I found a pretty solid deal on some fosgate products so I'm going to try them and see what's up until my sundown box is done .

Basically it's just a simple single P3D4-12 and will be powered by a R500X1D . I have an old QBomb 12VL ported laying around so I am going to try this sub out in that box . However I keep seeing conflicting tuning frequencies on this box and from what I can gather the tuning seems to be in the high 30's possibly even at 40 . Will 40HZ be too high for this sub ? Just trying to get a gauge on how the sound quality will be and what tuning range I need to be aiming for .

most side port qbomb boxes i've checked come out to 40-45hz after sub., not for sq it's a spl box. if u use it make sure u set ss filter on amp to 40hz to protect sub

It’s not a SPL box . It’s a poorly designed box for off the shelf subwoofers

well i didn't mean it to sound like a good thing i just meant it was tuned high.. also port to small for anyone running good power, maybe pusshing lick anything over a 600 rms amp.. wins shows over 90 fps at 350 watts..

It's going to be a couple weeks before my sundown box is done then I will moving back over to my sundown setup . I just need a single 12 box to get me by for now , the qbomb was given to me so I have zero experience hence why I asked for opinions on how sound quality would be if anyone has used that box before . I don't have another single 12 box laying around , I don't have a problem buying another one if this box is trash but I'm not going to spend a ton either with a custom box on the way for my sundowns .

Ehh depends.

Dub and rap have lower bass tones but plenty of songs that will hit that 40hz+ range.

IMO I'd put it in because a little bass is better than no bass.

You can invert the sub and mount it to the outside of the box to get about a 1-2hz lower tune.

edit: holy shitballs I just watched that Kicker video and I'm speechless. They admit to their bass being 10 ply af.
