In over my head.....help please

Ok so I really need you help deciding what I can do to my 09 jeep grand cherokee 5.7 with the RER radio/navi.

For now I can't afford a compeer able head unit so factory stay. There is a can bus line Inbetween the radio and factory boston acustics amp and after is like I said a amplified signal.

So at first I bought a universal line converter only to find out it can't take an amplified signal. So I bought a audio control lc2i ( haven't hooked it up yet I'm upgrading from 1-3 subs). The lc2i gives me a main out and sub so.......will this work Crutchfield said yes

I want to add a 5 channel my rear and dash speakers are full range but there are 6x9 mid bass in the front doors and the dash speakers are 3.5 components.

Hears the problem I don't want to replace with like the focal 3ways or anything because they only have a 6.5" woofer.........and the 8" drivers all need boxes for airspace. Is there an 8" that's free air or do I need to make custom door panels... I'm not to comfortable with that but my sub box will be fiberglass. I plan on running a pair of 8's off the 5 channel with the frequence higher like 150hz and the subs amp 150 and down.

What would y'all do?

Oh and I plan on havering 5 kenetic batteries with 1 up front and I would like the mech man 14v alt with a diode isolated but I'm unsure if I need a step down for the car electronics.

I see stats for amps and subs rated at 1w and 2 watts which is always a higher db .......who do I get that?

Does it make since to have 3 subs sealed vs 2 ported

Assuming you mean putting some 8" mids up front you'll definitely need to customize your doorpanels and put some work into deadening the doors for them to function properly. If you do they should be able to play down to 60-70 no problem and you should typically avoid crossing sub much higher than 80hz.

How much power do you plan to run and how much space are you willing to give up? Generally speaking fewer, high quality subs in proper ported box will give you better results than trying to cram too many into too small space.

For the batteries it's a jeep and needs a winch and kc lights and mabe back up lights. The truck is getting a roof rack and a 4" lift with 275 75 / 18's and an ac invertor bigger than it has maybe 3k-4k watts on system

Right now I have a mtx t812-22 but I've been really eyeing up dc audio level 4 12's in fact I might go with a dc5k 3. Lvl 4's and a 175.4 all matching.... I'm **** like that

To do 3 12's properly will take up most of the cargo area in that Jeep.

Personally I wouldn't touch any DC lower than XL and IMO the 5K can be had for cheaper by way of the American Bass 500.1 (same board), but if you're friends with a dealer and get good service and warranty you'll probably be happy.

You certainly won't go wrong over-doing it with batteries, but I'd suggest looking at the Sears Die Hard Platinum batteries. Very high quality, much better pricing than the "audio" marketed batteries, 5 year warranty, AND you can drive into any sears in the USA and get the warranty dealt with instantly without worrying about mailing a 70 pound battery across the country for service.

Does any one know a high quality shop for the door panels in the DFW area

What ever happened to Twisted420? He's from texas somewhere and has posted some nice looking installs. Don't see him around the forum lately, but I imagine he's still in the hobby.
He lives in Tyler Tx.approx.2 hrs from Dallas.Ive been wanting to go there and hook up with him and pick his brain about a few things of my install.I got a Demo in Austin year before last of the SUV.After that..tep..wall needs to be installed in my truck..LOL

Idont know of anyone in the area man.Might try Josephs Car Stereo in Mesquite,They do beautiful work.Maybe Bonnie N Clydes in Dallas off of H.Hines..Those are the only places in the entire metroplex that I can recommend man.Other than that???Hands on

Thanks guys, I just don't trust myself enough to blend factory and aftermarket door panels. Kicker and mopar hooked up and they have some 6x9's to replace I may just go that route. Not what I want but I'm sure it will be enough.

I really like 10's but I just got my first 12 about 6 month ago and I think I like there lower bass better, but they aren't as fast for rock

Sorry guys I know enough to not go to most retailers and I want something more like the w7 I used to have or better also looking at some sub graphs I see why you said subs below 60 and I think I would get the punchier bass that I like from a 10 with the 2 8's and the bass I want from the 2 12's

another bass myth still being perpetrated... Punchier bass is from the enclosure not the subwoofer size. You can have 15s and 18s be fast and punchy for rock and go low when needed if you have quality built subs along with proper enclosure. Size has nothing to do with punchy bass.

Really! How do I get a slightly more accurate box for what I have. I already know it's to small. Specs say it needs 2cu plus .5 for displacement and the box is only 2..... I got ripped of on a ported pro box
