So i got a poweraccoustik 2400 watt class D monoblock amp.

Power all the way, bass boost all the way.

& i had an inline fuse @ 80amps, now i think my plastic melted & it broke.

So i taped that bastard for the rest of the ride home.

I get home & my fuse blew right b4 i got home.

So i bought another one & it says 60amp max.

I was gunna used a 100amp fuse in it, but dont wanna just melt another.

What can i do?

What is the fuse size in the amp itself?

Could you use an inline fuse with the sum of the fuses in the amp? (ie. 40A x 4 = 160A)

By my calculation, if that amp actually hits 2400W, you would need a 200A fuse to handle that power. Is this the only amp running off this fuse?

turn your bass boost all of the way down and adjust your power/gain properly. you are probably clipping the chit out of your subs.

with your problem though...make sure all of the connections are good

that fuse is too small for the current the amp needs to make its power. do what mil81 said, add all the fuses sum together on the amp, and use that sum to find the fuse rating for your power wire. btw bass boost can be bad. its pretty much just distortion that makes you think its louder, but its really just hurting the sub. if your gonna use it, dont ever max it out. the gain is the input voltage, lets say im running 1000w into 2 ohms, i need 44.7 volts. to do this, you need a dmm, test tone disc.

Bass boost off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Gain is NOT a volume knob. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Your amp 30 x 4 = 120amps you need a 120-150amp fuse and new fuse holder.. problem solved. Everything got hot and melted cuz the little fuse tryed to keep up...

Big amps need to be wired propler or your just going to keep on having problems. You need the proper size wire (high quality 4 gauge or lower grade 2 gauge) and a 120A fuse in line. Make sure all connections are tight or that loose connection could cause melting of your new fuse holder as well. To get a 120A fuse holder, you'll need either a MIDI (Mini-ANL) or a ANL (waffer) type fuse as these are higher current handling holders. If your current fuse holder is for glass fuses (AGU) you wont find a fuse large enough for that holder.

And as others have said, you'll need to learn how to match the input voltage (gain) of the amp to your HU to get the best performance.
