Impedance rise

Alt case to battery pos then alt case to frame it says in the screenshot you posted.

I think alt charge wire to battery positive may be a better idea... Haha.

Must be a typo, but it could get expensive if actually implemented

Ok. And for the 2nd battery in the back should I just run the 1 postive wire and a couple grounds? And for all the upgrades what gauge wire should I use 1/0 or 2 or 4?

Sounds good, although not being there makes explanation difficult especially for me. If you want a 400a alt and 8k soon i'd size the wire correctly now. Redoing it again later will get expensive. For an 8k I'd do 2 main runs of wire front to back (2/0?) myself. Put the best largest secondary battery you can afford in back then ground everything the same as your main run everywhere.

I'm going to lurk instead of commenting awhile, I'm getting confused trying to envision everything with the constant questions. Haha... Since having a stroke awhile back it's my new reality. Not your fault.

It's all good I totally understand now and thank you for the help. Sorry to hear you had a stroke that really sucks. But really thank you for your help I totally understand what I need to do for everything!!!!

Do I need to run multiple postives or just grounds. Here's what I got so far please lmk if I'm wrong. The amps are wired to the wmd battery so right now I have ground and postive on both amps to the battery then 2nd battery postive to main battery postive and 2nd battery to frame. Where do I need to upgrade the rear

First, you can't measure Impedance with a multi-meter unless you measure voltage drop across the voice coil at each frequency- Impedance is frequency-dependent and that means it's Alternating Current, multi-meters measure DC resistance.

Whatever power the amp actually outputs to the drivers, if you upgrade the + cabling, you also need to upgrade the negative cabling, or you can't possibly achieve the output you expect. A skinny 6 or 8 gauge ground wire from the battery can't possibly support the current the amp uses.

I would contact Sundown and ask:

How, exactly, did you supply battery power to the amplifier when it was tested. Stating 3500W RMS @ 1 Ohm is fine, but for how long and under what conditions?

Tell them what you drive, what is included in your system, the alternator you plan to use and ask for their recommendations.
