Im thinking of trading my JL Audio for these ... what do you think?

Actually I would think that it is full power since its maxed out. I also am not sure how to measure voltage since the amp is 2 or 4 ohm capable and my sub is 3ohm. So I come to the experienced people on this forum.

Amp gain is to be matched with ur HU RCA voltage. If your gain is 90% of the way up you either have it set way to high or your HU have like zero RCA voltage.

This is why the voltage setting way doesn't work right. There is a easier way. What is your HUs preout voltage? 4v will be close to 1/4, 2v will be closer to 1/2. The chance is very high you are overdriving the amp right now.

I just went back and read some of this thread. U spent $650 on a w7 over a Xcon or icon or sundown x. Wow u need to get off that mainstream and get some real woofers.

Actually W7s are ******. Nothing will have the output they do on low power. Most don't use them right

I agree with this. Also, no one ever takes into consideration the money saved on not needing a HO alternator and a **** ton of extra batteries(could run you over a $1000 after all the accessories) by running a 1000w W7 over a 5000w whatever the ****.

So yeah $650 for a W7 or $300 for another brand with a $500 alternator and a $200 battery or 2?

JL owns SQ beating stuff costing twice as much. That's why people love them.

I wish those who criticize JL would hear my previous HO110 w6v3 . One the best sounding woofer I've ever heard in any size . This w7 I'm just now tweaking out and I did not pay close to full price , bought it used but they truly are good sounding speakers.
