Alright heres the deal guys, I have a custom made box for a jeep wrangler. Its real short so I only have 5.5 inchs of mounting depth and only 1.1 total internal volume! Right now I have it set up for two 10" subwoofers but I purposely made the bottom panel removable forseeing a sub swicht in the future. I can either configure it for one, two, or three 8"s or one or two 10"s, but I dont know what I should do.

After looking at countless amounts of subs I just cant seem to find a sub that will work with my setup that people actually think is a good sub. I have a Alpine MRP-650 amp, its rated for 400w rms at 4ohms and 600w rms at 2ohms. Please, I really need some help I cant figure out what sub will fit in this box and still sound good! I'm willing to spend some decent money on subs, but I cant over over $190 a piece for two or $360 for one, please help me!

I have that same amp for my sub. It's a beauty. I have 1 12' type R with it and it sounds great. Of course it has been properly tuned and tweeked to get it to sound that way. Yoy could go with a 10' type R or get you a 1 10' IDQ and it should be sweet! It is well within your budget.

some of the slim edsq10's

or the tang band (which seems to be.. well.. ridiculously similar..)

the si bm's perhaps (no clue about volume requirements)

there are many more available as well

there's options.. just gotta pick one

Sorry guys, I guess I should have been a little more specific on my box. Its down firing and even though its only 5.5 mounting depth I can modify the top slightly to take pretty much any 10" sub (assuming that I am using just one 10" sub). I'm really new to this whole audio thing so I dont know much. What would you guys reccomend for one high quality SQ subwoofer? perferable $400 or under.

Here are some pictures of the box, I dont have the top put on the box yet so making it a tad taller wouldn't be a big deal.

Alright box construction is as follows. 5/8s ply wood held toether with liquid nails and screws, I have all the joints reinforced with 1x1 strips of wood. After assembly I sealed all the seems with silicon, then for an extra messure of protection I put a coat of rubberized car undercoating on the inside of the box to make sure there are no leaks or rattles.

I really need to know which single 10" high performance SQ subwoofer to put in a 1cu ft sealed box. I need to keep it $400 or under and I want something really nice that will work good off 600watts at 2ohms. I'm new to this stuff and I really need some advice. If nothing comes to mind then could you tell me what kind of specs I should be looking for in a sub?
