I'm really considering getting those shallow Pioneers...

I just don't know anyone who has them. I know I can fit them sealed in my truck (the site says .5-1ft^3, so I can probably pull .7ft^3 each), but I'm just not sure how they'll sound. They'll obviously be louder than my two 8"s, and I really don't have many other options for an upgrade I guess.
What would you guys do? Stick with the AA 8"s or go to the Pioneer shallow 12"s? Don't even know why I'm asking, I'm pretty sure I know what the answer is going to be //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

those 8's looks awesome. i vote keep them.

0.7 cubic ft/ sub is not going to have very good low end extension. I really don't think you would be happy with it.
I don't know if you have a fullsize truck or not, but check out this idea....could incorporate a single 12 in something like this too...

I'm in a single cab Ranger, sadly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Someone brought up a shallow mount Clarion 10" sub that came out last year. I couldn't find very much information on it. Earthquake also makes a series of shallow mount subs, from 8" all the way up to 15".
I've looked at the Earthquakes. I'd get one, but I'm just not spending that much $$$. Not sure about the Clarion, but I don't want to get the eDs because I think they wouldn't be as loud as my Assassins.

Hmm, that is true //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Guess I'll just stick with my current plan of building a ported box for them *pulls out pen & paper*

I just installed 2 of these in my brothers single cab truck, the shallow Pioneer 12s. They're each getting about 200 watts and are in sealed .7 cuft enclosures behind each seat.

They hit pretty well, but they could really benefit from some more excursion I think. I'm at the rated power but they obviously don't hit like a full size 12. They are great for the space they take up, but just because they're 12" doesn't mean they will automatically be better than normal 10s. 8's I would definitely say these 12's can beat, but 2 ported 10" might come close.
