Either one twelve TC1000 or Fi SSD in 3 cubes tuned to 35 hz off of only 350 - 400 watts.

I need to know which one will be the best all around choice. People with any experience of either these subs please help me out. Have a friend with a Fi Q and I like that (hence my signature) but the Q isn’t a reality for me.

Thanks

how is it not a reality for you?

too much?

SSD would need a good bit more than that. Just hooked up my friends 2 12" Fi SSD's this weekend with a Hifonics BXi1206d to power each of them (approx 1000 watts rms) and they sound incredible. I'm convinced, might get myself a Q soon.

can you compare those ssd's to other subs you've heard?

No and yes. If I go with a Q I would need to purchase a bigger amplifier as I run a kx700.5 for everything. I am looking only to upgrade to a different subwoofer from my CVR

that is the prefect amount of power for a tc1k. I think an SSD requires a bit more, but i could be wrong.
Yes that does seem like a perfect power match but how are these subwoofers, any personal experience?

Well from what I know and what I was told that model Hifonics puts out only around 900 at 1 ohm so that would be 450ish give or take 50 watts and you say they sound good off of half the recommended wattage? Is that truly enough to push them decently?

And for the Q my friend absolutely loves his, he used to run a RE SX and now he switched to the Q. He is pushing it with Memphis amp giving it at least 1500 watts and it pounds.

brandon may or may not have, but I certainly do. Great little subs, tough too. Ive thrown twice their rated power at them and they didnt complain. These have been in production for almost 7 years now, they're pretty reliable subs and sound great. I was using one in my SQ setup in my Corvette for almost a year.

The SSD is a superior subwoofer.

I own both, and the SSD wins in SQ and output.

With your enclosure (a little oversize) and power, the SSD will do well. Ask Scott to build yours with dual soft spiders (instead of the stock dual stiff).

That's how I had my 6 10's built, because I was only giving about 400-500 to each one.

i dont know if i would even put the SSD and the TC1k in the same category(sp?)... The ssd is rated twice the power of the tc1k's. TC1k's can take double there rated power, but obviously when done you have to be careful. As far as sound, i can not really say since i have never heard an SSD personally. So all i can do is go by specs giving. I have however heard and owned tc2+ subs. For the size and cost they are great

Man, I didn't know they will do that....now I want dual soft spiders for my Q.

The berserkers are easy to get rid of. General RAAM is the hard part. What level are you playing at and how far are you.
