I'm really considering getting those shallow Pioneers...

I just don't know anyone who has them. I know I can fit them sealed in my truck (the site says .5-1ft^3, so I can probably pull .7ft^3 each), but I'm just not sure how they'll sound. They'll obviously be louder than my two 8"s, and I really don't have many other options for an upgrade I guess.

What would you guys do? Stick with the AA 8"s or go to the Pioneer shallow 12"s? Don't even know why I'm asking, I'm pretty sure I know what the answer is going to be //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Boldened text - not necessarily....if those 8's are ported with the right airspace and power, and the 12's are suffocated due to not enough airspace, the 8's will probably be a better option.

I'm just a huge fan of boxes built on the larger side, I like the smooth transition it usually provides from low to high bass and vice versa.

0.7cuft per 12 just doesn't sound like something I would run in any vehicle....

Dude, go with some Mach's or something, that's what Im doing in my truck, I am just going on the assumption that the MAW12's will sound better than the low depth pioneers.

I have one of the 10's and love it. I have a crew cab nissan titan and I have the sub installed in a .5 sealed enclosure under the rear driver side seat. I have a ppi pc250 bridged to it. I listen to mostly metal and rock, but every now again some hip hop. It keeps up just fine with fast double bass and with low long bass notes. I just can't wait to get my front component set.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

P.S. I got mine for free (friend), but he paid I think $120 for it. And the shop Iam friends with the owners are selling more of this subs then any of the other subs they have.(Alpine, Arc, Pioneer, and Dynaudio.)

What's your mounting depth limit mugen?

No one can seem to come up with a decent SPL solution for us truck owners //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif us reg. cab-ers that is.

Well, I'd be able to give them enough space, and my max mounting depth is like 5.5" or so before it gets uncomfortable, which is why I want to switch to these shallow subs, I'd be able to push my seat further back :p

Someone brought up a shallow mount Clarion 10" sub that came out last year. I couldn't find very much information on it. Earthquake also makes a series of shallow mount subs, from 8" all the way up to 15".

Yeah, I just wish someone would do a review: Mach5 MAW12 vs. Pioneer Shallow Mount.

I would buy w/e the review decided.

Or maybe a better solution for my reg. cab?
