I'm putting together a complete system.

You want links to make it easy?
I appreciate the help from everyone, really. But I'm being told 5 different things from 5 different people.

I'm not looking for competition bass. I'm looking for a full clean sound. If I can get what I heard out of the Kicker comp box from one sub, I'd be happy.

About 10 years ago, I had a kicker L7 12 powered by a Hifonics Brutus amp in a sealed box that I bought for $30. That setup blew the kicker comp box

away. If I had that setup again I'd be happy because I'd be able to turn it down to where I want it to be.

Just be careful. A lot of overrated stuff out there and a lot of big names that outsource everything from chine, kicker and Rockford ect

Don't by a lot of power for cheap, there is a reason it's cheap. Know that it takes power to make power, power comes from the charging system. Alternator and battery.

Basically OP you cant go wrong with anything anyone has told you. But stay away from the bottom end stuff like Boss. If your looking for basics then go with a single 10" or 12" on low power. I'm surprised no one has brought up box design, but that is key. I had a RE SE 10" in the smallest box it was designed for, then I built the largest box it was designed for, and it made a night and day difference. Looks like that JBL amp he recommended will do the job for you. But you might want to run the Knuconceptz 0 gauge kit just in case you want to upgrade later. It's not that much more money. $1.75 per foot, and you can piece together a amp kit for cheap on Ebay.

My dimming lights would agree.

There are 1000's of different ways you can go. Just keep in mind if you get too big of Amps you will may need 2nd Battery, HO Alternator and BIG 3 done..

Here links and prices to it all.

Sub $220

Sundown Audio SA-12 600 watt sub woofer

Mono Amp $140

Amazon.com : American Bass VFL1880.1D - 1 Channel 1800W AMP 1 OHM Stable 900W RMS : Car Electronics

Big 3 Kit...Added this due to its an affordable upgrade and their is no excuse not to do it.

Mylow10 sells one here on the Forum that's nice and priced well.

About $750 Range there... You can switch out the SA for an E-Series Sundown or American TNT Sub with just a 500w Mono Amp and save money too. You can drop from a 12in sub to a 10in Sub and save some as well.

I've spent most of my researching time looking at the SQ HDS312s... so I'm pretty set on those.

Now for the amp. I see a lot of people reco'ing the American Bass amps... and I see the MB Quartz used to be a great company, but now have issues.

American Bass seems to have a decent following both here and else where on the internet. I'll look more into it.

I'd like to talk about the interior speakers... The type R alpines are 120 or 160 with the tweeter. Is the tweeter a must have?

I'm definitely not buying a second amp to power the interior speakers... should I really go with a more expensive speaker set than the one I chose?

If you're going to power off the head unit, you can just buy a coaxial set (tweeter mounted on the midwoofer). Yes, the tweeter is necessary, it's just a matter whether it's separate from the midwoofer or not. With minimal power the HU provides, you should get the coaxials. They're cheaper. I run my stereo off a stock charging system and I don't have bad voltage drops. Then again, I'm reasonable with my playing levels. I've spent hours searching for subs for myself and for my friends. Believe me when I tell you that for the price pointed soundqubed offers, there are no equals. There is not a single woofer on the market that offers that kind of performance for that kind of money brand new. There are definitely woofers that can outperform them, but they cost more. As I mentioned before, I still recommend component speakers (tweeter separate from the midwoofer) over coaxials and even a small amp to power them will prove to be the world of difference.
