I'm putting together a complete system.

Make sure you read carefully with the Sundown yard sale stuff. Some of it is stuff that didn't pass QC checks. He is going to be adding more stuff to it next week. I would buy a good used sub from some one to be honest. Browse the classified section, of put in the wtb section what you are looking for.

AB is much better I believe.

Yeah I was just about to comment about this. I could potentially get a sub that is pretty much useless. I'm not willing to take that risk.

You're saying AB is better than the SQ sub or amp? Or both?

You are getting steered into buying to much power. That leads to electrical upgrades to the car, that leads to expensive.

You don't want a ground pounder you want reliable good sound right?

Go on Amazon and get 2 amps.

Jbl ms-a500 and the matching 4 channel. A stock charging system will power those. They have built in DSPs which will aid in good sound quality and flexibility. More power than you need also. You can even get the matching sub and be good to go.

See how much you have left and get a component set.

As for rear speakers. You want the sound stage in front of you like you are at a concert. In a good setup the band is on your dash board not behind you. Sub bass is omnidirectional so it can be behind you, if you prevent rattles it will sound like it's all around you but be centered up front.

Don't waste money on iffy gear, replacing it adds up fast.

Also invest in sound deaden for the trunk lid and front doors.

I dont think a ph1600md would draw to much current. It would be a legit 800 watts rms. Am I wrong? I was just trying to show him there are better things than the mainstream el cheapo amps. IE Boss

I'm getting confused.
