Using an hds310 off a sealed box right now. It's good. You'll be happy with it. Not the greatest, but I'm happy with the money I spent for it

By the deck - don't think so. I recommend getting even a small amp that does 40w/ch.

My opinion buy an American Bass ph1600md ($112.00) or a AB ph-2500MD. Look over at caco, Sundown is having a yard sale. Good subs cheap prices, or buy a good used sub. After I finally built a good box for my used RE SE 10 I love it. gets deep and loud (comparatively speaking) on 1000 watts. (ph2500md). Get knuconceptz 0 gauge wire CCA and you will be good to go.

Marine speakers? Is Sundown good? Theres a 12" sub for $90 that looks huge. This is really overwhelming lol.

I'm assuming I want a 2ohm sub instead of 4?

If you get a mono amp that is 1 ohm stable then you want a dual 2 ohm voice coil configuration, if your amp is a mono block that is 2 ohm stable get a dual 4 ohm configuration.
