the load i am putting on it. today I sanded down all of my grounds really good with a bearpaw. ran a straight 1/0 cable from the batcap 2000 in the back to the battery in the front. my voltage is still dropping to about 11.8 at the amps. curious, I then turned my engine off and turned my volume up until about 37.. (full tilt is 48) tested at the amps and before i ran to the front to turn it down so i don't throw my amps into protect mode.. I seen it drop as low as 11. what is my next move here. Thanks!

Don't play ur music loud with ur car off.....Might solve ur voltage dips..Disconnect all your batterys and charge them up and see what they rest and charge at..They should sit at 12.2+
I don't at all man. that is what I am saying. I play my music with the car on ALWAYS! I turned it up today without the car on, just for testing. It wasn't 30 seconds, my voltage dipped to 11 volts. both batteries rest at 12.7. I do have a stock battery up front but I have been told that replacing it probably won't stabilize my voltage that much. on a load test at autozone, it tested fine.

Vandiar replace front battery with a nice one deka optima, powermaster you get the idea and that will help more than you think. The stock is meant to start the car only then the alt takes over the auxiary stuff for the most part but with that system you are pulling from all parts of the electrical so front battery replacement is a must..

If this is for the Sundown 1500 that battcap should be fine for that. What kind of front battery do you have?
yup that is what ray told me at batcap too. I was almost certain it was a ground issue. apparently it's not. front battery i believe is a die hard. i will go look in a little bit im at work right now. i know its the stock battery though.

ok, sounds like its time for a H/O alt. i have batcap 2000's and had batcap 800's. i ran a redtop up front and 2 batcap 800's in the rear (not quite the power of a single 2000) and i NEVERRRRRR went below 14v while i was driving, about 13.2 at full tilt at idle with my saz1500.

your not charging the batcap enough, hince you need a H/O alot. have you done the big 3? any battery bank will drop low as hell without the proper charging.

Yeah you should get a nice deep cycle for up front. Hell get another Battcap 2000 you can use them as starting batteries all day long.

Do you listen to it Loud all the time? The batts could be drained a bit and the Alt is not getting caught up.

The Batcap does not have a deep reserve, they are more for quick burp type stuff. get a Kinetik 2000 for up front.

Try this same test with the amps only connected to the Batcap 2000. So in essence, the only connection to the amps is the rear battery. Leave the front battery in place so it can power the HU. Just remove the connections between the batteries. This will rule out the front battery being the issue. From what Ray told you before, this 2000 should be able to power that amp by itself. No need for the front battery to be in the equation making things more difficult to diagnose.

Dude, 12.2V is near DEAD batteries. Just go play with your OC settings and leave the car audio stuff to people who have a fucking clue.

Just do like I said above and run the amps from only the Batcap. It is supposed to be enough on it's own.

see thats the strange thing. my voltage drops are sporadic. whenever im jamming, and the bass stops in a song, it jumps up to 13.5-14 volts.. like almost immediately. maybe your right though. wish i could find a good HO alt that would fit in this dodge neon..

yes all the time. however, for a long time this week I drove around with no music. I am certain these batteries are charged up good.
