Nope, but I'm up for learning somethng new pretty much anytime. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifHave you ever heard of a society called the Yanamamo?
The only Indian culture of any kind that I have ever had anything resembling an in-depth look at would be the Caddo Indians which lived in what is now NW Louisiana, SW Arkansas, SE Oklahoma, and NE Texas. The reason being is that my maternal grandfather (Mom's dad) was 100% Native American, specifically Caddo. I cannot say that I have ever studied the presence of homsexuality and its role in their society, however, as it isn't something that ever occured to me.Or studied any other indian(not neccessarily american) cultures ever? Specifically the roles of homosexuals in those tribes/groups of people/ societies.
To an extent. Most peoples' parents will guide a son or a daughter towards different pursuits based on gender. There are different expectations attached to males than there are on females and vice versa. Like every rule, though, it has its exceptions. There are always going to be girls who are tomboys and boys that have tendencies towards all things "prissy." It's an inescapable fact of life.Do you agree that "gender" is learned? That is to say, we "learn" to become a boy or girl.
. No and no. Race is a creation of genetics rather than an ideology. Whites, Blacks, Asians, Latinos, whatever - they simply are what they are because of how they were born as opposed to something someone else simply thought up.People "teach" us through socialized learning. Do you agree that race/gender are products of what our society has created?
See above.Back when whites needed the power, they created what "the black man" should look like, and tried to create "races" of people, publishing "what the negro ear looks like" and bullshit like that, to try to create this idea of different races of people
I have no clue what you'te talking about with the 1/24th and 1/32nd. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif As far as the rest of that goes the existence of bigotry or "racism" isn't synonymous with actually 'creating' races out of a mere contemplation.when in reality, most white people have 1/24th drop of blood in them, as opposed to the 1/32nd drop of blood at the time such laws were implimented. What I am saying is that, white people basically created the idea of a different race of people, so that they could make other white people feel superior, simply because they are black, and that the laws used to hold black people down (1/32nd law) - white people were actually more "black" than they thought, which proves what scientists have been saying- that people are more closely linked that we think.
No, I didn't.Did you know that as simple DNA as flys have, they are 10x more similar(related) that we are, on a dna level?
I'm not trying to win a prize or anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif That's just the first thing that came to mind by way of response to each. We'll start there.
I suppose whoever can answer that the best will show who Ill finish the convo with. Not to "weed out" people, but just point me in the direction of the person who can help me the most.
Let me guess....someone is taking Sociology...
This has nothing to do with socio.
If anything, it is Anthro/Psych/Philo/E.S. related.
Yes, I take Sociology, but that has had no effect on why I am looking for someone to talk to.
LOL yet you hate Philosophy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gifEverything is inherantly psychological on a personal level; relating to the abundance of alternate reactions to the circumstances and environment.
or to put it in a more simplistic form:
There is no norm. It is merely an illusion fabricated to comfort humans from the different realities they can not yet grasp.
That's about the most ignorant statement I've heard on this subject.just so you guys know....religion is a joke. no proof all faith.
