I'm Looking For A Sub To.....

Ok here's the deal .... I want to get loud outside the car. Right now if I open up both doors on one side of the car and pull down the back seat the bass hits pretty good.

I'm running an ED-k 15" off about 500W and I'm vibrating the hell out of the inside of the garage while parked next to the garage.

Now before you think I'm looking to be the guy sitting at the red light rattling someone elses car with my bass, I'm not into that. What we do is have partys, old buds of mine we all get together and hang outside, drink and chill out and I provide the music. We're all bass heads, I just happen to have the best system out of them right now.

None of them know about internet companies, they think Kicker and Audiobahn are the shit and they was a bit shocked with the ED. What I'm looking for is bass that can be felt outside of the car not just heard.

I have a small trunk, had a hell of a time getting my box in there. I have a 95 Honda Civic sedan.

So what would really give me thundering bass? I want something that can hit really low and not fade out. It's going to be mostly an SPL application, I'll get better fronts to keep up.

I think your problem might not lie in the sub. I would go to the box, whats it tuned to? If it virbrates everything, but there is not much audible tones, then I would say your tuning is too low for what you want. Try a new box instead of a new sub, tune higher, in the 35+ region.

Treo SSi. one 15" ported will get so rediculously low. they get so low it is almost stupid.

I agree on the enclosure, You need a properly ported enclosure, which means you might need a larger enclosure. Try pulling out about 12-15 ft from the garage so the wave can be at its peak when it enters the garage. What size box can you fit? If you can do 3.5ft^3 -4ft^3 ported with at least 40 sq in of port area tuned to around 34hz, you can go for two 12's or a single 15 that takes more power. I'd try to increase power to 1000w+/- RMS. It is your daily driving system, so I wouldn't tune it too high. Also remember that the bass isn't as loud outside the car, and that's just the way it is.
