6.5" free-air subwoofer?

I have no idea if this even exists. My girlfriend has a 1994 Honda Accord, and there are no rear speakers. I have yet to look back there, but I'm assuming they were 6.5" speakers.

I'm hoping that someone here would know of any 6.5" subwoofers that would work in a free-air install. Any suggestions? Only thing I could think of were the JL Audio 6w0's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

rear deck speakers are 6.5. Now if u are trying to run sub on the deck. YOU will have to carpet it. Cus I am pretty shure that a 6.5 subwoofer/midbass has some good excursion. and the factory grills would not work to well.

the tagband that squeak posted, or the EU700's would work great for your situation.

i bet if you cant fit them, a little bit of modding will solve that problem.

i usually cut out a sqare piece of wood, and make a speaker hole on it, then i screw that to the UNDERSIDE of the dashboard, and then screw the speaker to the UNDERSIDE of that.

3\4" of clearance for excursion, good (well better) dampening, nice and sturdy, and it dosnt have to be exactally on the "factory hole" it can be misaligned so that the trunklid tortion bars are not in the way - if you understood that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Yeah, that woofer does look good, but would it work in a IB application? I found some Audio Art 6.5" woofers that looked decent also. hmmmm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yep I understood it. The torsion bars was the only real thing I was worried about. I'm gonna take pics and see what needs to be done.

What about just putting a 8inch Kicker RMB8 there? since its going on the underside of the fatory hole, I didn't see a big problem...besides the cost of the woofer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
