james i no it a old thread, but if u ever i repeat ever sell ur car for some reason. I call dibs on ur pods =]. i could use some 8's in my 94 =]

also, how do we remove the fucking door handle cups without snapping them. i break a pair every **** time.

i will probably be doing an ib install around march when jacob (sundown comes out with 250.2 sax amp. so ill sell the q, ported box, and sae1000D and go sq, by then ill switch out the cdt hd 1 drt silk tweets for maybe some nx30 id's or seas neo alum and sell 4" mid for seas L series mid or maybe some iridium 3"

That sounds like a great plan.

This car is still running strong... but if I do sell it, i'll let you know, if I remember.

Going IB with this car was fairly easy. Much easier than I thought it would be.

For the door handle cups, I've broken one of them so far. The best procedure for taking them out is to

1. first unhook the top part which is connected to the top of the lock switch.

2. then use a thin but sturdy flathead to get the inner bottom clip off, while pulling on the door release (the thing you pull to open the door).

 
when u say top and bottum u mean the little stub stick out on the lock swivel part?

so i imagine u start top around center up cup near lock? go down and out that comes off, then on bottum part go up and ou while pulling handle and pull toward the dash in direction right?

if so good stuff. could never figure it out.

yeah i wanna go ib badly. i got a whole roll of raammat coming, some more foam, and then for install i didnt say but for subs ill be getting either id maxes, idq's or arc subs.

i yanked and yanked and it wont come out and im clueless so ill prob take it somewhere to get fixed.

the door handle cup is held to the door in two spots.

one spot is on top of the swivel of the lock switch. That loosen this spot, you use something thin and flat to place it between the lock switch and the door handle cup, then pry up and outwards.

the other spot is on the bottom side of the door handle cup around the middle. to loosen this part, you use something thin/sturdy to stick it between the door handle cup and the bottom of lever (what you pull to open the door). you then push downward w/ the tool you're using and if you get that part loose.

then pull outward and away from dash while pulling the lever.

Once these two spots are loose, you should be good to go.

be careful when pulling, because these two spots (circled) are weak and may snap. I learned this the hard way.

pics help a ton thx for the reminder i saw that clip last time and wandered if it were engaged with cup or not, and now i no why i been snapping cups lol pulling to dash.
