I'm going to miss George W. Bush

good for you, you are a lucky one. how about those of us who just graduated from college and are trying to break into the job market and can't find one? we're competing with those who lost their positions. it's virtually impossible to get anything right now... i've been trying for months.
the unemployment rates are staggering. the housing crisis is more like catastrophic. small business owners are struggling through hard times, trying to beat out the box stores and even those are going under. banks who were given bailout money won't loan it to qualified individuals to purchase homes to try to ease the foreclosure problem because they are scared that these people will lose their source of income, as well. it's frightening and uncertain.
I don't lknow of many people with a college education that are out of work right now.

They are jobless because they didn't prepare properly

Not because of bush

Organized religion is a joke, at best.

nG
I said nothing about religion bud.

But I bet your average religious "nut" is more financially independent and secure than your average "non religious" person.

And how are we paying all of this back? What is dollar going to be worth? SHIT!
Iran's already made the boldest/smartest move by switching back to the gold standard.

He wants to create 600,000 government jobs... Sure a portion of those will be put into building roads etc. but not all of them. He's going to be creating more police/ law enforcement jobs. What happened to limited government?

Getting money back? $1,000 dollars is nothing compared to congress's $4,700 annual salary increase a few weeks back.
newsflash, this isn't iran.

how about public healthcare and renewable energy sources? you think that won't open more jobs for people in this country?

why don't you ask george w. what REALLY happened to that bailout money HE approved. where did it go? why isn't the average working man receiving that?

someone didn't listen to the speech today. "it's not about how big or small our government is, it's about if it works." there's your answer for limited government.

i'm sure you wouldn't complain if a $1,000 check showed up in the mail for you tomorrow. i know i wouldn't, considering i didn't get anything from bush.

Do you watch the news? There are company layoffs on a daily basis now, and those people are well educated.

LOL nobody's job is safe right now, do you watch the news?
Unless your a drug dealer?
No i really dont watch the news .......same stuff over and over ...thats the problem with this country ,people are getting lazier ,and always got there **** hand out ...and yes my job is good

9-11=we were hiring

right know =we are hiring ....

i'm talking about those of us who just graduated this past year. i know a ton of people who have either lost their jobs or can't get one. it has nothing to do with preparation, it has to do with the economy crash. i guess my bachelor's degree isn't good enough to get me a job, that's what you're saying. maybe i should go back to school and pay to get a master's... oh wait, i need money for that... which means i need a job.

I will disagree with you there. What are we supposed to do with all the people who work for health insurance companies?

What do you think, that the president sighs the checks himself?

Everything is "Bush" this and "Bush" that.

You should be ashamed for using that man as your scapegoat when something goes wrong. Take responsibility for yourself!

If you don't have a job or money go to college. Or trade school! There are grants for that...Stop following the crowd and blaming someone else!

They have to let the bad seeds (businesses) fail , then clean up the mess and fix it before they start dumping money into.
i don't disagree with this. for instance, i don't feel sorry for GM or chrysler. they had plenty of time to get their stuff together and compete with the imports. they didn't. ties with government, ties with oil, union bullcrap, CEOs and their outrageous salaries. i wouldn't feel bad for them if they fail. the ones i feel bad for are the average joes. if the big 3 go under, more people will lose their jobs, their homes, their lifestyles, thus magnifying the economic crisis.

i went to college you dumbshit. reading > you.

what exactly is your plan to make the economy "better?" you have to spend money to make money. basic principle. besides, if the stimulus goes through, you'll be getting money back, so what are you complaining about?
Continued deleverging in the economy until we get back to fundamental values. (not a moral/religious term, an economic one). The money we make per hour will decrease, the things we buy will decrease, but it will be real and sustainable without the proliferation of obscene amount of credit. It will be an economy will risk and reward actually work, not one where you take big risks and leave the company in shambles when they don't pan out.

Getting my money back? Are you a stupid fvck? If you take a dollar from me and give me my dollar back tomorrow, I am not getting my money back. I must be compensated for my lost purchasing power during the interim. Time Value of Money ring a bell??? I hope you don't proclaim to be educated. If you are, that English degree is going to get you took in the real world.

Oh come on now, those issues have been going on for years and years and years and years and years.
What's really important, is that we

1.) Get the hell out of Iraq

2.) Get the economy back healthy

3.) Restore faith with our country, with other countries around the world
Yes, get out of Iraq. I am sure it won't end up like Vietnam.

Ya these people that complain about him spending money, well Obama is TRYING TO SAVE YOUR GODDAM JOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need a job to spend money on your car audio right?
Car audio is the last thing on my mind. He is trying to save jobs they shouldn't have had in the first place. Long term sustainable growth cannot be based on extreme leverage. It cannot last. Why do you keep thinking you can borrow your way out? If a person cannot borrow their way out of debt, how can a government?

And how are we paying all of this back? What is dollar going to be worth? SHIT!

The gold standard IS NOT the solution. For one, do not have the ability to count all the money. That is a requirement for a gold standard.

LOL nobody's job is safe right now, do you watch the news?
Unless your a drug dealer?
Or a prositute, liquor store clerk, or guns smith.

Just like W eh?

nG
They are spending the money for different reasons.

Personal morals are what this country is built upon.Take that away and the nation will crumble.
Can people's morals not be different? I thought working through the differences and creating compromises was what our country is all about.
