Has anybody done this before?

My first idea is to drill a couple holes in a block of wood, using T-nuts I'll bolt the ANL fuse and wire terminals down, and wrap everything in electrical tape to keep it water proof. It's a very simple design, think it'll work?

I just feel the need to pay

it would work...but for how long is the question...and how its gonna look is another question...but good luck...

yea i feelin ya wid the price thing

I need a 0/1 ANL fuse holder, if you know of one for $9 please inform me.

I don't think it would be dangerous, as long is it's waterproof, which is the tough part. After thinking about it, I don't trust just tape.

I could buy a small "project box" from radioshack, that should work better. Any other ideas?

I guess it's no mystery why KS gets the "redneck" label...

menards sells these 1/0 blocks that can be bolted....so getting 2 of those would work for an ANL fuse....probably available at lowes/home depot too, since menards is midwest only...

I wouldn't worry so much about water though, more grounding the connection and draining the battery or starting an electrical fire...

For $2.00? Because thats how much the project box is going to cost. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So what was it $9 or $2? I can you get a safe, waterproof, non-ghetto fuse holder for that price.. whereas your $2 radioshack/home depot special will be, well.. you know.

Well I figure the reason it has to be waterproof is because when everything is wet and the current is enough to flow threw water, then a short going from the fuse holder through the wet surface of the car, to the chassy, and finally to the negative battery terminal will occure. Because there is no other fuse between were the wire is shorting out at, your ****ed.

So how much current is needed for electricity to pass through water?

Plus after a while the bults and shit could start to rust.
