A couple weeks ago I put my fi audio 18" btl i bought in 2008. used it for about a year on 1,000 watts and at the time (20 years old) I wanted to push 2,000. It never happned since I sold the suv and bought a coupe. Know I have it on 1,000 watts just to test the waters and it seem a bit to much for me now. Before I Didn't care while driving, now im a bit more considerate and find myself putting the volume down a lot at stops.

Im sure I can adjust the sub to put out just enough for my comfort but thinking of downsizing if i find out which other sub size can produce that same level and take less space.

Im not sure if i should go with a 12 or 15 or pair of 10's. Im looking for a set up that sounds more complete. sq? Im not sure what is needed to achieve it. suggestions?

I was thinking about selling it but its a dual 1 ohm not sure how many people have amps doing 2k at 2 ohms or wiring it down .5ohms. Then their shipping cost.

use a gain knob on your amp and just leave it at half most the time. What i do for most songs unless im listening to Dubstep

I am able to control the bass. But im still debating on getting a 10" or a 12". I might store the 18" again if a 10" or a 12" will do the job for me. It would also free up some space in the back and less weight.

I been out the car audio world for a while. What company is making pair of ten's or single twelve with good overall music playing ability.

You can't go wrong with many of the brands that are popular on this forum including, Sundown, SoundQubed, American Bass, DD, SSA, FI, DC, and Tantric. Of course there are many more but these are some of the more popular brands on here that will give you a quality product. They all have many different options to choose from.

Id run a pair of SQubed HDS310s in 4 cu ft @32 htz like I have in my CRV..sounds great and clean when cruzing, and I can slamm when I choose too.A preamp EQ helps alot with tuning, and at my fingertips I am able to make adjustments when needed.Ive always found a a pair of heavy tens do well in a coupe, or small trunk space over the years.Seems like I can get a better more suffecient box built for a pair of tens than a pair of 12s..a nd have some room leftover at times considering the vehicle. One XFL 12 in 2.4@32 will do nicely,or SQubed HDS312
