I'm done running a .5ohm load

set it to ohms while it was playing and read the meter at the speaker terminals and it never went about .7-.8
lol... no. Bad info ITT. That is NOT how you test your rise. That is a good way to wreck a DMM

Yes I know about efficiency, yes I know that amps are less efficient at a lower ohm load but I dont think its as big of a difference as you think especially when you put any power to it and you rise well above your resting impedance anyway. Just because it rests at .5 ohm doesn't that the amp sees .5 ohms when it's playing.

interesting thing about setting the dmm to ohms - when I do this and push down on the cone of my speaker I get readings all over h3ll and creation, so I dont like that theory of yours.

wasnt telling anyone how to do it was stating to crx that its how i do it.....

still i did 2900 at .5 on an amp that is ment to do 2500@1

A dmm reads resistance by pushing a small amount of electricity through whatever you are trying to test and then determines impedance. What do you think is going to happen when you start applying electricity to something that is already conducting electricity. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

tj i will vouch for your #'s about the orion starting with a ~.5 ohm load... that is about the exact # i've seen from a few. i wish i tested mine when I had five freaking batteries and quad 1's :-\ gained 3db going from 1 ohm each to .25 , how's that for your efficiency theory

the amp does get got but i have just 2 batts and a 220 amp alt

i had to silicon some fans to the case of the amp and use an ignitionw ire to run them

I would but I don't think you really want me to and it's time to go home from work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
well when u get a chance pm me on how to do it the correct way so i can go do it and see what i get....and yes im serious ground not being sarcastic
