Im broke because of this build.

Yes, Pete did the design.

I agree, the whole box in general seems small. But everything I've seen this man design has been loud as shit.

DD trust him enough make sure all of their demo cars are the loudest they can be.

Come back in a little bit, when the build is done, and if it fails, then ill bow down to your superior knowledge of my subs, my cabin, and well, car audio in general.

I heard a 4th order Pete designed it was for 4 18"s. Port seemed rather small, but it did 157+ Streetbeating Usaci style, loud as fuck. I also have the original Hellboy I bought off Pete, amazing design. I would not worry about what the masses are saying Pete knows what he is doing /thread

lol. dd subs or not. you cant force pressure to go thru a small hole and get higher output. it just doesn't work that way. its simple physics. the bigger the opening the more posibility of higher flow. think of it as in water. with a 1 inch pipe you get x amount of gallons of water per min. you can't get more than its max capabilities. and with a 30 inch pipe you get so much more. and a 1 inch pipe will never come close to a 15 inch pipe. its not capable of it not even with juice lol. the liquid that goes thru it still reacts the same. get what i'm saying?

port size is too small. even for dd subs. infact dd's site says for their 15's around 3 to 4 cubes ported. meaning the 13.6 cubes that he has is only good for 4 maybe 5 subs anyways. and with only 252 square inches of port, its going to ****.

its not enough port volume to allow 8 15 inch woofers to come to life.

you have 1,413 inches of cone area trying to force 23,501 inches of airspace thru 252 inch opening...... sound like a good idea? NO

Rival whats your sealed/ported raio and how much port area anyways. Id like to compare it to mine. I have 2.23 sealed per, 1.92 ported per, and 220 sq port. Granted I only have 4 subs vs your 8

u said your port was 2 inches wide by 10.25 tall. thats 246 inches of port and you claimed that this port is the exact same specs as the st pawn van. NO WAY IN HELL the port is that small. there is a kid standing in that van's port. and a grown man that can lean back and almost sit in the port. its way bigger than what you think it is. lol. again showing that the concepth behind what your claiming is a lie.

see post 106 he claims his box has the same port specs as the saint pawn port. or at least the saint pawn box. ....... just saying no way in hell that is the same specs lol. not even close.

Im sure if I was willing to give my back wall of my truck up, id have a port that's as tall as my box, but I don't.

You can quit posting now, we understand you don't think the box will work, by when I said the designs where similar, I was talking about the sealed and ported volumes.

Come back when its done, and lets see who was right or wrong.

There's people on both sides of the fence and there's no way to tell if it'll work or not until I buy the subs and amps and put it in.

And if it works, your going to feel like a real jackass.

no I wont lol. I hope for your sake I'm wrong. however your port doesn't need to be floor to roof... maybe wider and a lil taller... because his port looks around like a 24-26 wide and probably 35-40 tall. yours is 24 wide and 10.25 tall.

on your box i'd do a full width of the box port and also do about 13 to 14 inch tall port. it wouldn't hurt.

your entire concept behind your designed box was to choke down the port. causing a compression inside the ported chamber. forcing the subs to be unable to have its full excursion. just so you could dump more power into the subs.... again its counter productive.... why restrict the performance of a subwoofer just so you can use a little more power? if you're hoping that by adding more power you will get a louder setup your wrong. because your inhibiting the overall performance of the sub so that you can run more power. why not get the proper airspace, and port and run less power?

lol again, i'm not hating. I hope it works for ya man. and if you read I've said with 8 15's its gonna be loud either way. I'm just trying to let him in on the fact that his box design isn't really copacetic. and the idea of power output to being a chocked down box isn't gonna help him in this point. because the actuall airspace is too small too... he really neads a huge port to compensate for the little airspace that he is working with.
