you just have to confident on what you are doing .run all the wires to the amps first ,install them ,then use a test light to charge the caps and hook up the battery last. works every time .been running my amps with no outer fuse for over 3 years now,no issues, when i blew my stetsom all my wires were fused and no back battery, have't blown an amp since.

Curious.. are you fusing for the wire or the amp? I ran 2 Cactus K12's with proper fuses for the wire and would pop mine quite often if I was drawing more power than the wire was fused for. I had a 300a anl on each power lead. Mind you there are 3 power and ground leads. You dont fuse to protect the amp, you fuse for the wire so you dont short it out or incase something breaks the jacket.

just a quick question, say you have a 200 amp alt and your running 2/0 weldng cable that is good for 450 amps and say you have an amp with a 250 amp fuse whats the point in running fuses then?
