OK guys. Ive got a pioneer HU, which as many of you know can give you the voltage of your car's electrical system. What worries me is that mine is so low. According to the HU, my car rests a just about 13.8, with EVERYTHING off (AC, SW, Vol = 0, lights, etc) and the car on.
I have an 800W SW set-up (in sig). I've done the big3 and I'm running stock batt. and stock 90A alt.
I think the problem is in the HU, maybe there is some resistance in the power and ground wiring that is reducing the line voltage to the HU. Is this possible and a common problem?
My buddies "works." It reads 14.4, etc. I have done some extensive dash modification, because of the mazda 6 dash style which included replacing the whole console plastic piece with an aftermarket kit. Perhaps the pieces and connections aren't as good as in the stock wiring harness?
Is there another way to check my car's voltage?
If it is sitting at 14.4 as expected, then what can I do to fix this little HU dilemma?
