That's the shipping company's fault.. not the fact that sub is only $5's fault..

guess you didnt read immacomputers first post then eh? 2nd paragraph says it all. the box was undamaged and in perfect condition...yet the sub was ****ed...

yea one of my 8's has like a scratch on it about 2 inches long and it deff. wasn't the shipping company. Looks like somone sanded the paint off.

Actually the backplates are ugly as sin, but I don't think that they intend for it to look pretty anyway.

I don't understand why they put the foam "gasket" on the front of the woofer. It's kind ugly to inverse mount.

probably how the company they.. well.. get it for wanted it, they are just overstock oem stuff I believe

Im sure they make the baskets thin and pliable for this very circumstance. Rather smart of them.

So I have been playing around with these the past few days and so far, I have enjoyed them isobaric in the 3 cube enclosure the best. Sealed, I was not pleased with the frequency response and they sounded pretty dead. It works out decently with the single sub in the 3 cube enclosure but any smaller and I wouldn't be very happy with it. It didn't like 1.5 cubes @ 30hz very much. I'm going to build a 7 cube enclosure tuned to 23hz for these. I think it will work out well for them and should be pretty nice for a home theater setup that doesn't need a ton of output.

I actually enjoy the single 8 for moderate volume listening. When I need extra output, I just put my av12 on instead. There isn't a ton of output from these guys but their frequency response in this enclosure is not bad at all. Not the best sounding driver but not bad at all. Well worth the money, even if one did leave the warehouse jacked.

I'll get more graphs once I get the enclosure built but that may be after Christmas. I would also love to try one out in car to get an idea of what it would be like there but I can't do anything until I can afford a headunit. Anybody want to donate to the "immacomputer needs a headunit since his car got stolen and then he got ****ed up the *** with insurance" fund?
