Illegal Car Tint??? WTF

yeah i got this same crap! well not me but my girl drove my truck one day with the same tint i had been driving around with for years and she gets pulled over for it ...wtf ...i had the tank strip on the front ...5% pass the line.. pass the mirror with about a 6-8 inch gap and the tint to the bottom on the windsheild and i never had any cop pull me for it but the one day she drives it ...and then ontop of that i pull the tint and go to get the fix it ticket checked off and the dip @#$% didnt even turn it in ...

I love the comments about a "kill" switch for the windows.

what about the windows that do not move??

True, Also I had another question is there a law stating I have to roll down my windows for him to put the meter over the window. I think next time I get pulled over I will just pull the fuse out of the panel and tell him the window motors are blown and dont work. Then he cant test the windows correct and without a meter reading he cant cite me a ticket correct?

then youll get a fix it ticket for inoperable windows.. Got one last yr .....

I believe you have to follow those orders as I don't believe he needs to get a warrant. Another option rather than the fuse, which I'll be trying primarily because my fuse box isn't accessible without opening the door... When I get tints in the spring, I plan to wire up a "kill switch" to my windows. So I get pulled over, roll down the windows, flick the switch and, "I'm sorry officer, my motor/switch must be broken, the window won't roll up".

Thats better than my idea. I got off with a warning. He told me I had illegal tint, to which I replied it was like that when I bought the car. To which he replied you should have removed the tint when you bought it. To which I replied in the most sincere surprised voice I could make "YOU CAN REMOVE IT"? He gave me a warning and I was on my way leh sleazbagger.
