If you can design you own head unit what would you incorporate into the design?

what would make yours stand out from the crowd.Would you only make single din or double. TFT moniters.Me personelly i dont know about all the radio and their options,it might have been down already or in the makes as we speak.i'd design something with a wi-fi connection,hi def 1080P or better and S.S.S Speaker Safemode System. .Having said that.S.S.S will sense a fault in your speaker or speakers and it will cutback the power to save your system.You'd still be able to listen but not at full power.It would actually tell you what the problem is,in real time and in lamens terms,No codes like OBD1 OR2 I'd make entry level products for the average paycheck to paycheck guy or gal.and they WONT have that cheesy look.Midrange for the guy or gal who's got a little bit more to spend again no cheesy look.Last but not least High end for the Baller carshow kings and queens.(cant forget the ladies) endless options for a decent price is what im getting at but what would you do?

It would use the digital input on the Ipod. All alps circuitry. No screen. No balance. No bass/treble knob.

It would be a class a balanced preamp with biolite display for song selection only. No CD player, have to be seperate. Nothing but a balanced pair of outputs and a great Ipod control. Balanced output/ digital coax/optical. Digital and RCA input wouldn't hurt, I suppose.

Then I'd get a Rane processor or Zapco DSP6.

Speaker fault protection? People with dream decks buy good speakers

mine would have JL written on the front of it in big bold LED lit letters so everyone would buy it without thinking or knowing what it is.....
