Copy+Paste politicians are halarious. Havent you heard of paraphrasing and citing btmorris?
anyway...
2. How did Iraq pose a threat to the United States? Were they going to shoot bullets filled with 25 year old chemicals halfway across the world with their AK's? What country has Iraq attacked that would have affected any United States citizen in their homeland? (Kuwait and the Iranian / Iraq war doesn't count.) Remember, I'm not saying that Saddam is a good person.
3. I remember in 2003 we invaded on the premise that we were "fighting terror" in Iraq because there were WMD. Did it just get labeled a humanitarian effort when we figured out we screwed up and needed a cover to look good? If the United States is all about humanitarian aid, why aren't we all over Africa where the real crimes against humanity are? Oh yeah, theres nothing we can manipulate and profit from in Africa so those people don't deserve our help. I guess the Kurds just got lucky on this one.
4. Progress? I guess you could say that. People can vote, wow. Saddam is out of power, genius. Afghanistan is still a shit hole and Iraq is erupting into a civil war. Meanwhile Iran is throwing a big middle finger at us while terrorist recruitments are up across the world exponentially since we invaded. A quote from Bush Sr. reads...
"Trying to eliminate Saddam, extending the ground war into an occupation of Iraq, would have...incurred incalculable human and political costs..."
"We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. . . . Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations' mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped to establish."
"Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different and perhaps barren outcome."
I find it pretty sad that we are still losing troops to a broken nation of no more than 30 million who don't have weapons more sophisticated than rifles, rpg's, and handmade bombs. Its rediculous. If we cant stabilize Iraq, what is going to happen when we have to fight a real war?
Invade and post up in Afghanistan, do the same to Iraq so we have Iran surrounded. Wait and see...things aren't getting better. However it's easy to think so as you sit in your air conditioned home watching a one sided news program that only tells you what you want to hear.

Yes and no. Just because Joe Schmo on Fox News is reading bullshit off of a teleprompter doesn't escuse the whole news corporation, or him...and that's the point.ok, I see where you're going, but the news reporters dont know whats true and whats not true...i though you were saying like..they know the truth, but blatently say other things to deceive us. They just say what they are told. The diff. between them and us is they actually go out and do their investigating on their own, and report what they feel is true.
1. Saddam and Usama are sworn enemies because of their differentation on political platforms. Bin Laden didn't like the way Saddam ran somewhat of a socialist regime in Iraq because he is a fundamentalist and thought it to be disgraceful. Not to mention Iraq's highly guarded borders (solitude) which disallowed Al-Qaeda recruiters into the country...that is, until 2003. If you can provide solid proof that this is not true I'll admit I'm wrong.and these things here.... Iraq / Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda...
Iraq poses a threat to the United States... Iraq posed a threat to the whole world under Saddams Rule. I dont think anybody in this country would be up for being allies with Saddam...he is a threat to everyone.
The War in Iraq is a humanitarian effort... Again...do you honestly think he wasnt planning on doing something horrible in the next 10 years...It had to be done, he had to be brought down..it happened to be us.
We are making progress in the middle east... hahahaaaaaaaaaaa.....no comment. But hey, at least their people are voting for who they want to rule their country, and what kind of government they want....but tahts about it.
