if u disconnet ur battery do ur amp setting reset?

Are the various settings on your amp manual potentiometers (dials you have to physically turn) or are they digital settings (though I do not know of any amps that are like this.....) ??

If they are manual pots (as I assume they are) then whether or not the battery is connected or not will have no affect.

on those alpines the gains are digital so im pretty sure they will reset
Well, if Dre is right and the gain settings are digital as well then he is absolutely correct.

Anything that requires power to operate (clocks, station presets, digital amplifier settings, etc etc etc) will revert to whatever is the factory default setting if you disconnect it completely from its power source.

So if you shut off your car , doesnt the amp shut off ? i htink it has a small ack up baterry or sumthing. If it doidnt your amp would reset everytime u shut down your car.
not necessarily...the amp is always connected via the main battery power cable....the remote turn on tells it when to turn on, but a very VERY small amount of power is always drawn from the battery, maintaining the digital settings...this is how your head unit maintains its settings...it turns off too, right? yet it always keeps the settings unless the battery is DCed
