closed end connectors/wire nuts i need them to fit 8awg wire, anyone who has the audioque hd's or digital design 99s

I don't know why they don't just put some **** terminals on the things.
"No loss signal path by virtue of copper-to-copper connections.

Speaker terminals are not made from pure copper, most are actually steel or brass. These metals are far less conductive than copper. The effect of any connection that is lower in conductivity than the cable is that of a resistor. New class D amps favor lower impedance loads, at 1 Ohm, the terminal can account for as much as 10% of the total load. This amounts to dead weight in an audio system.

A mechanical copper-to-copper connection keeps signal loss to a minimum it is virtually impossible to measure the losses. This is better than a soldered connection. Even the best lead-free, silver alloy solders are less than 20% conductive when compared to pure copper."

I know what they put on their site, but in actuality, they are only contacting half the surface area at best with the copper to copper connection and their philosophy is out the window. You can also get connectors with any plating on them you choose, such as silver plating, which is actually more conductive than copper. The solder quote is BS as well as the solder is nothing more than a means to hold the wire together. Anyone using solder for actual conducting purposes shouldn't even be using it.

If a simple wire lug and bolt is feasible for high amperage power distribution, surely it's more than acceptable for use on drivers.

oh looks small...i only see two wires i guess ill go check out home depot tomorrow then, what subs are those? and 6"port?
oops, they are wired in series in that pic, so there is only 2 8Ga per connection, but still.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well i was out of elec tape so used scotch tape...i picked up some elec tape tonight tho and some of the wire connectors, i got a 10 pack thats says 2 # 10 awg hopefully that works, the other i was considering was a 3p ack of 6ga but they look a little too big unless i had 8awg speaker wire instead of 12awg
