nevermind, i was thinking about the mishnah, oral torah that was passed down verbally until it was written down later. the actually old testement was "supposedly" given by god at mount sinai..

the books (from old and new testiment) were written at different times by different people. but it says that they are all the word of God (meaning God told the people what to write)
