general gotcha has good ides. Walmart is the best place to go to help you with your testing purposes.
x2 I had same problem with a D6 I had it in a big-ish sealed box with 1000wrms and it sounded sloppy and got loud on random notes, putting a bunch of wood blocks to lessen the internal volume made a world of differenceI simply hate the sound of large sealed box's, They seem to be very inefficient to me. You really need to build a nice ported box to spec. Night and day! Otherwise go with .8 sealed as said. Youll deff see the difference
What you are describing just isn't possible. The speaker should receive more power when wired to a lower impedance. Basic electrical and laws of physics tell us that. So my guess is you are wiring it incorrectly, or there's some other sort of issue going on. Are you checking your final impedance with a DMM?im not anymore, i thought that was what it was was because of low power but it would have went into protect. but why is this thing louder at 8ohm vs 2 ohm. i dont understand it. i really need some help bad with this crap. I have spent almost 800 bucks this past week trying to get it to sound right, there isnt anyone near me that knows anything about car audio and im almost to the point of selling everything and not having a system!
