Hot glue will do the trick. But if I did it again, i'd use something like 5 min epoxy or FG resin for a better bond.
Well then there you go. They are a good value. I'm just really picky about tweeter sound, i guess. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifwell these Seas are a huge step up from what i was using so i am really happy with them. the press fit wasn't a problem for me, and i prevented the tinsel lead problem with some hot glue and about 2 minutes of time. they seem well worth the price i paid.
Where exactly did you hot glue them? I should do that to mine seeing as how my last set failed on me.they were $63 plus shipping for the pair. pretty inexpensive really.
ummmm, it's hard to explain but the terminals on the tweeters are just a bit fragile. so to prevent any issues i used some hot glue to reinforce them. i didn't take any pictures to show, sorry.
it is micro suede. got a square yard of it for $9 at a local craft store called joann fabrics.where did you get the material that is over your a pillar? and what kind is it?
i want to do something like that to my car sooooooo bad.
and nice work on your car. i have been watching your posts on it for sometime now
hmmm... from most of what i read people have said they sounded better on-axis.Hmmm alot of people say the alums sound better off axis but I am glad to hear you like them. I am running the VC100s right now but I am thinking about those or Vifa XT25s if James decides sell them. I might just buy a set just to have since they get such good feedback. Ill need a low playing tweeter when I step up from my Mli 65s to the peerless mids I just purchased from Slammed. Nice install too.
ok thats what i thought. very nice i will have to look into getting some of that. we have one of those stores just done the street.it is micro suede. got a square yard of it for $9 at a local craft store called joann fabrics.
well the pillar stock was wrapped in headliner material so i just put it right over top of that. just used a 3M spray adhesive. it was pretty easy really.ok thats what i thought. very nice i will have to look into getting some of that. we have one of those stores just done the street.
did you just put that on the a pillar or did you put anything under it?
cool man. have any pictures of your install? i'd like to see them if you do.nice set up, you inspired me to the same with my tweeters. I also have a scion tc 06.I also redid my pods to house my tweeters like yours, mine are slighlty on-axisfor imaging & i do have a set of cdt / vifa es01 tweeters. I mounted them on the outside of the tweeter stock location, slightly off-axis.
For the pods i did like you with the pvc piping, but i glass, primered, & painted them.
I went back to my cdt drt25 from seas neo , which i need something a little more brighter.
my mids are aurum cantus 7 which was so hard to get to fit into these tc doors, i had to cut the four coner flanges off of it.
I mad it fit.
the cabin of the tc seems to reproduce sounds & imagings so nicely without having to do much time correction to the sound stage.
I'm using cdt passive satnet560 x-over for now, but when get some money i think i will try to go active with an out board x-over.
keep up the good work
oh i have read many people critize you for aiming your tweeters on-axis/ at you. it really does sound better in the tc's.
thanks for inspiring me to try something new.
