hello i am new to this board but i have sold some of these over on eca and diy . These are OEM Image Dynamics mid/midbass drivers. very similar in sound and looks to a cx64. they are 4 ohm will take 150-175 watts with nice detail and extreme impact.

zukiaudio, gentlejax2,and tristan20 have bought these and enjoyed them.

marv was impressed with the impact playing 1 for sub duty in a .20 cu ft box.

I think we are gonna build a 8in cubed box for 4 of these and see how it sounds.

Very beefy and well built each speaker weighs about 5 lbs. shipping is on me though.

Do these need a crossover? If so, any suggestions on one that would work well? I need something to replace my stock 6.5" in-doors and supplement a pair of 3.5"s in the dash.

what kind of car???? they might be crossed over at the amp, or you may just need a coil.

either way i do have some crossoovers as well

My vehicle is an Infiniti FX-35. I'll be using an aftermarket amp (JL 300/4) but will probably be utilizing the car's speaker wire (which means each door woofer will be wired in parallel with a 3.5" in the dash). I'm guessing a low pass x-over just before the woofer would be a good thing for these in my situation. Any suggestions?

well you can low pass the amp a under 2k expierement between 1200-1800 and then you can cap these at 60-80hz

they will pay down to 45hz well but you will need to reallllllyyy need to deaden your doors.
