hello i am new to this board but i have sold some of these over on eca and diy . These are OEM Image Dynamics mid/midbass drivers. very similar in sound and looks to a cx64. they are 4 ohm will take 150-175 watts with nice detail and extreme impact.

zukiaudio, gentlejax2,and tristan20 have bought these and enjoyed them.

marv was impressed with the impact playing 1 for sub duty in a .20 cu ft box.

I think we are gonna build a 8in cubed box for 4 of these and see how it sounds.

Very beefy and well built each speaker weighs about 5 lbs. shipping is on me though.

they are cx64's.

but it looks like they got rid of the phase plug on the pole vent and went for a glued-to-cone phase plug because of the unloading and dust in the pole vent problems. before when there was a gap there - **** could eaither get down in the gap - or if you played them below, say 50hz at louder volumes, they would start hitting the back plate or something making a really bad popping noise. hence the bumped plate and no static phase plug. id love to get my hands on a plug like that and do some of my own modding to my cx62's.

there are a few differences between these and the CX64s.

The only similarity i can see is the basket and spider. iirc, these were made for another company, designed by E. Stevens... they should be some nice sounding mids nonetheless.

yes eric desighed these for a boat speaker company. i got my a hands on a few pairs and passing on a great deal to other forum junkies. req you are absolutley wright. you must have had some cx's with the debris problem. for the marine speaker they went to a dust cap.
