IA 40.1, optima, nsb90, 250A alt, still not enough,

Mannn i have no clue how u blew that thing...its **** near bullet proof

I have a ab 500.1 which is pretty much the same amp...i ran it fine at .5 ohm with stock alt and 2400 underhood and 2 deka 31s in back....only single 4ga run to the rear and nothing else upgraded

Dont know what you were doing to make it protect so much

Nothing is bulletproof when you starve it of current. Had you ran yours long enough to drain the g31s your would have done the same thing. Unless it has power limiting circuitry built in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But yes they are both incredible amps.

How long do i need to run themm haha....i played it daily for a few weeks

Although my batts are pretty drained right now, bought charger today....i seen voltage fo to 10.8.....at 1ohm....still no protect...*knock on wood*

Big3 is useless if ur having that massive a drops in voltage.....grounds is the key;)

Here it is....

Here is a 20 if you can see it better only diff is the 40 has 2 more + and - inputs

Whats the pic for.....yeh theres 4 inputs to make wiring easier

You could hook up both amps separately to the 4 terminals and still get same ohm load

Either .5 or 2ohm only options now

Bold is very true.

And to answer your question I have no idea how long that would have taken. But if you were to try and charge the two g31 from completely dead with only 4 gauge, can you say fire hazard?? Or blown amp. Whichever comes first.

I guess I am way confused then, I thought mono meant 1 channel
So this is pretty much a mono amp but you can hook it up to either terminal?
Mono does mean one channel that is correct.

Your 40.1 is a monoblock. Says so right on the box. The only reason there are two speaker inputs is for convenience of wiring multiple subs. They are internally bridged together.

If you hook up two ohms to each channel the amp will see one ohm.

If you hook 4 ohms to each, the amp sees 2 ohms.

1 will see .5. Make sense yet?
