IA 20.1 vs. Orion 2500- head to head matchup

How come everyone says the IA 20.1 puts out insane power, but no one will show a bench test of it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
x2, its like "omg the power is insane, but we cant show you, you have to buy one to see for yourself"

ghey //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Why dont u just quit arguing over which one is better and do ur own test to find out?

But to the point, Orion is an great amp I've owned it before. But to me the IA would be a better choice to go with because of the current draw and it being strappable.

Lol I was thinking the same thing....

....The voice in my head told me that my Carver rated at 120w x2 at 12v is crazy underrated and it does 5000w @.001 ohm bridged!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

because it's true story man. talk to IA2, or Incriminator, or talk to scottiej, or anyone with one. i can personally say that the one that i bought(straight from IA at world finals great customer service there, to bring one for lowly me), that undercoverpunk now owns (thanks for the 8455), that ngsm13 is using daily:laugh: out did 2 modded 1501d's (on a 15" MT), hands down no contest. and u can run these things at .35ohm DAILY(the MT for example). show me another amp doing that.

you also dont know how underrated the 20.1 is
along with the fact that you don't know jack shit about impedence rise

not to mention that "2500d" is not running at no where near a .5ohm load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if it were it'd be nothing but smoke and a distant memory

ohm's law is a ***** isnt it?
totally agree... i wired my subs down to .35 ohms but w/ box rise is was above .5

my orion 2500d didnt like it very well.....

No I believe that the amp is underrated and I really want one right now.

Im just wondering what it puts out though....

How about looking at it like this, lets look at 2 vehicles that competed against each other at db drag world finals. Gorman Cassidy using the 2500d's and Scottie Johnson using the IA 20.1's. I believe Gorman won and they share a world record. So they seem to be pretty equal right? Although everyone seems to be stuck up scotties *** and seems to think he has better designs and a better builder so that must mean Gorman one with pure power since they are using the same subs right? I dont know jsut asking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Whoever said earlier in this post that the Orions are rated at 14.4 volts you are wrong they are rated at 13.8. They orions will burp low ohm load just like the IA, that I can guarantee. The advantage I see the 20.1's have is that they are strappable. But wait so are the 2500d's if you know what your doing.

Choose wisely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

2500's would not be allowed to be strapped in dB Drag from what I know- for an amp to be strapped, it either has to be made from the factory to be strapped, or a strapping device from the manufacturer to strap amps.

Hmmmm....interesting topic........You do know Scotties van was doing way over a 167 at Drag Finals don't you.......Do you honest believe his qualifying score was the same as his last round score? Gorman knows the number the black van can do.....Tune in Spring Break......166.5 is a pretty good score with only 4 or 5 of his 8 coils. As far as his box design it must be pretty **** good, you'd be surprised the things people have done to try to see inside the van. One person even went to the trouble to measure it out and making drawing of it piece for piece.

Don't even start talking about Gorman Cassidy...what a fucking JOKE. If you only knew what you were talking about. Just don't worry yourself bud, you're ABSOLUTELY correct you don't know...so just leave it at that.

Anyways...

I owned a 2500d for about 3-4 months...it was the biggest piece of shit I ever owned. I was running it at 1ohm daily for my XXX18, I had a 200amp alt, red top, and yellow top. The thing would straight up SHUT off when the bass hit real hard...it was rediculous. I took it out of my truck, and used a modded 1501d instead. I don't regret my decision either.

The 20.1 will straight up OWN the 2500 in most installs. The 20.1 is capable of putting out HIGH voltage while also putting out high amperage as well. The 2500d can't do that, it'll shit itself.

Not that you need to do it, but the 20.1 is capable of running down to CRAZZZZY low ohm loads. Right now, I'm running the one I have in my truck (thanks Jason) @.35ohms daily...and it LOVES it. I drove for about 2 hours to columbus, bumping it hard the entire way...and the amp got LUKE WARM...that's it...ask Jason (UCP) or Mike (IwantseXXX) or Tim (TimB).

Also...ask Gorman about how his amps like DEATH MATCH...AHAHAHAHAH. Ask him...

No I didnt, I never saw that # come up

Do you honest believe his qualifying score was the same as his last round score?
Thats what I saw

Gorman knows the number the black van can do.....Tune in Spring Break......166.5 is a pretty good score with only 4 or 5 of his 8 coils.
If that is true you are right it is.

As far as his box design it must be pretty **** good, you'd be surprised the things people have done to try to see inside the van. One person even went to the trouble to measure it out and making drawing of it piece for piece.

Thats what I am trying to say since it so such a great and efficient design and Gorman DID beat him then Gorman must of had more power to do so right? you pretty much just agreed with me, lol.

On a side note my teammates and I would always let any one take pictures and measure and do anything else they want. o point in trying to hide something, If they could get a better score with the same sdesign more power to them. Hopefully they would share with us what they did differently in exchange though. With everyone hiding everything how are things going to evolve.

I am not in any way trying to say anything Bad about IA or these 20.1 amps, I jsut wish everyone would try to keep an open mind.
