I was happy to see the UPS truck today.

Are you planning on covering the boxes to make ut look nicer? Also i would have put that money towards a new truck. Never understood putting all that money into older trucks and cars.
Hell no. Carpeting looses DEEBEEZ and gets expensive. Also I don't generally keep a box longer than a couple months before trying something new so it's pretty pointless.

I drive 40,000 miles a year. I can't see putting tens of thousands into a new car that's going to be worthless in a few years... new vehicle is the absolute biggest money pit out there (next to women, gambling, and dope). If I had 20 or 30K not tied up, I'd buy a piece of land, and I can think of a lot better things to do with 400-500$ a month than pay for a car that will probably start failing long before I'm done paying for it. If new cars are your thing, have at it. For me a car is merely a 14.4V power source and speaker enclosure

These amps will be worth 80% of what I paid for them for a decade, and the subs are worth abut 80% of what I have into them even blown. The wire is probably worth most of what I own it for at the melt price of copper. AND when I do get a new beater to drive all that equipment can be put into whatever I want. About the only thing dumping in value is the batteries

Not hating, i just never understood putting all that money into a beater. Thats all, no hate in that.
You'd understand if you lived/worked in BFE and wanted to enjoy your hobby without worrying about scratching your paint or getting your carpet dirty. Some people are in this hobby to impress their ears, not other peoples eyes....

I never understood putting a ton of money into something that'll be worthless in 3 years. If I only drove 10,000 miles a year it might be easier to justify.

I put money into both, and I have never been impressed by a 10-15 year old car with a nice system. No matter how nice the system is in SPL or SQ. I would rather have a nice car with a nice sound system. I understand not buying a new car when you put 40k on a year. I also put on roughly 35k-40k a year, but it is my commuter car and beater. While it is upgraded in audio it is no where as nice as my other 2 cars in equipment or sound. Basically my beater has an upgraded HU and just 4 base replacement speakers. I know cars lose value rather quick as well, but I drive mine into the ground anyways. And the nicer cars when Im done with work and going out on the town are usually traded in or sold within 4 years. Mostly low miles on them so I do get decent returns on them. Where I work I wouldn't want something nice and expensive anyways. You know how many cars get broken into in Harlem,Queens,Bronx and Brooklyn? I respect what you want to do with your car and equipment, but if I could i would want something newer.

Most of the people probably do it for themselves, not to try to impress you with there 10-15 year old cars.

I could see doing it for themselves. I still just don't understand how people think. I know AV83 lives at home with his parents and is still a young kid, One day he will understand it's nice to have a nice ride and a nice system.

A lot of times in order to have a nice system you better be willing to start tearing stuff apart and attaching things directly to the vehicle. I'd much rather have an older car that I don't have a lot of money into that I can beat the crap out of and do whatever I want with it versus a $20,000 car that I'm afraid to do anything to and just spend my time babying it.

Ya if you have something loud its just going to ruin your car and your going to have rattles and squeaks all over the car. My blazer roof started ripping metal in the back corners, i definately wouldnt want to do that to a nice car.

that'd be sig worthy, if I was ambitious enough.

That pic is sweet. Nice amps.

That set of amps brings a tear to my eye

I also like that you have a FE in your truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

you just never fvckin know when shts gonna blow...

Definitely wouldn't want to be driving something nice around there. New car just is something I totally don't care about. I've had expensive cars in the past and generally regretted it after the first year. The cars I've enjoyed the most in life I've owned for 3-4,000$ range. Really I'm not excited about any car that's came out since the early 80's, so even if I were to get a show car to dump loads of money into, it would be 30 years old or better.

Damn I'm jelly...You coming to the sanford show in sept. Jon?
Definitely. Working on getting a few more Neo sig motors, so I'll be rocking a new box... thinking 4 12's and keep the back seats.

strapping 4 into 2 amps?
In the picture yes, I'm "cascading" them now. I just needed to pick up some wire to make it happen. One amp as master and the other 3 slaved that. Minotaur has not only an inverted output to strap with a slave, but an in-phase output so you can slave as many others as you like to drive their own loads. Pre-amp is disabled on all slaves and the crossover, gain, and EQ in the master controls the lot.
