I fail.
If you "know" you'll never go more than (2) 18's, go ahead and get them. Because if you get 12's, you'll get used to them and be like, "lemme try some 15's." Then, when those are boring, "I should have gotten 18's."
Orrrrr... get the 12's now and if it's not enough, get another pair. (4) 12's can get freakin nasty. Probably wind up with a bit smaller box, but you're still lacking on cone compared to a pair of 18's. Barely. Motor and coil will make up for that though. Only downside is, that (4) 12's is going to be almost twice the price as a pair of 18's.
