Floor displays often get damaged like that. Everything people are afraid to do to their own speakers, like push the cone in as far as they can, touch them or try to hold them still while they are playing, etc... these are all things a floor model experiences every day.

they actually didnt sound bad. they were comparable to two shivas i heard a week ago. they played a nice range too. they definitely got lower than any id max ive ever heard and i thought those sounded good

I've heard them in optimal enclosure and also in prefab boxes. They don't sound good.
