All I used up till now are clarion and alpine products, and considered everything else inferior. The new alpine x001 model was what I planned on getting today, but guess what.... It has NO CD!!

so I looked around and the guy talked me into getting a pioneer 6900usb. Greeat deck with ipod controll built in for $275. It is the best sounding deck I have ever heard. With the clarion dz775usb that crapped out me 2days ago i would need a external eq because it doesnt have the customability that i like. In my daily driver there is an alpine and its good with the MX and bass engine, but the controll and crossover on the pioneer are awsome

I used to think Pioneer was a little crappy, but after using it, i must admit that I'm soooo glad I was open minded enough to try the 6900usb model.

I had to have it TODAY... I ordered the Clarion offline,now I have to ship it back for repair and some stuff I like to get local so i can return if I have to.

I had the x001 at the counter ready to check out and felt like a jackass for paying that much for something that WONT EVEN PLAY CD'S.

I mostly listen to music from the IPOD, but I could only imagine the jokes my friends would have about the x001 whenever they rode with me and had a cd they wanted to play

Well you could of got a cd changer, but then its not really worth it, how much was it going to cost you anyways?

The fact that you can't play a CD in the Alpine HU and it has no real processing abilities is pretty sad..... I think Alpine could have really hit one out of the park if the unit incorporated both of these things.
