both xxx and brahma have same RMS rating, 1600 watts. i think people generally choose xxx over brahma because it looks sexier.i believe the brahmas are 1400rms and xxx are a lil higher i think. why do people choose xxx's over brahmas? i have never heard any of these speakers in person and most people i know havent even heard of them. i know the differences in sound with a sealed and a ported box but has anyone heard the difference with these subs in both kinds of boxes? i have a 2.3 cu in ported box now but i think the size of either of these subs will make that a lil smaller than desired specs. what are your opinions on box type??
Why would having top notch subs affect whether or not you choose sealed over ported? Don't take any more of this guy's advice, seriously.this dude i know he has a nice setup with 2 treo ssx 12" subs and they bump. he said if u have top notch subs it is better to stay sealed.he also claims the treo ssx's are the world record holding subs(i doubt).
do you guys agree with sealing a brahma over porting? (i like loud and tight bass)
as far as ordering i'll have to call adire and ask how long the wait will be.
since i have never heard a brahma b4 i was wondering how it compares to a alpine type R, treo sx, jl w6, mtx 8000 in terms of SPL and SQ at 1000watts? (those are the only 12"s i have heard recently.

who is that?
Exactly. Read up on their motor design, called XBL^2, designed and patented by Adire Audio (who makes the Brahma). Its a motor designed for extreme linearity, even at extreme cone excursion. This means more linear travel of the voice coil/cone assembly and less BL distortion. IE: it moves alot (gets loud) and sounds like a dream doing it, even near or at peak excursion, which is where XBL^2 subs really outclass traditional non BL optimized drivers. XBL^2 was designed to minimize distortion (which it does very well), obviously for SQ purposes, alot of cone excursion was simply the bi-product of the design.i thought brahma was awesome spl w/sq but it sounds like they are sq subs w/spl.
The XXX have the XBL^2 motor as well don't they??
