Not sure about the Q. Does it need a big box? I know it can get loud, but sq is really the priority here

If you can fit 6-7.5 cube of space you can try fitting a ported 18 in there, otherwise go sealed.

I have no idea. I wish I did know though. The SICKO-X is basically (not literally, so don't go ape $hit on me) a real-world, mountable, tunable, usable Parthenon. I don't think there's a single piece on that driver that Kevin didn't tool up. Motor, basket, surround, spider...all custom tooled.

i say just build a new ported box for the type rs. save yourself some room as well. 5 cubes tuned to 32-34hz and theres your lows, increased output depending on what theyre at now, and save yourself some room.

i've got 4.6 tuned at 32hz atm.

my gf has a ten in her car in a ported box right now, sounds great and suprisingly gets real low. people cant believe it.

my friend had a 12 in a sealed box, didnt seem to get loud but sounded really good at the time.

i know of another sub thats on the drawing board with 65mm... not quite as much as the sicko but still

and yeah, the design looks VERY similar to the parthenon to me

I think i tried translation an expression from french. Anyway I awas saying that type r are nice. But they still are low budget loud sub but they don't exactly sound like let say a RE XXX... There is a sq difference between the two and no box could make it sound like an higher end sub.

It seems like people interpret "Wowing" as loud. That was not what i meant when i first started the thread. SQ is the big priority. I can have acces to a ascendant audio avalanche 18 for a good price. I just needed to know if there was something better than that. From the reviews of the Ava18 over the web no sub sound that accurated and hit the low that well. I wanted to know if it stand to its hype but it seems like few people have used it here.

The R do play those freq with a big box and low tuning but not loud and well at all. They are meant to be loud around 40-80hz and they do are **** loud at those freq. They aren't linear down to 20hz. That's what i'm looking for
