I want a "Wowing" 18

Put it in like 4 cube sealed with 800-1000rms on it. I miss my ava //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

as for the pic of the 4x2 over the box

don't know if it will work (pb noob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif)

btw i know it's ugly! will be doing it more seriously this summer

Close, but I cant really say since I havent fired my XXX up yet. XXX will handle more power, Ava seemed to have a softer suspension though from what I remember.

But Ill tell you right now you wont be disappointed from the sq from it.

isn't 2 12 inch subwoofer(s) ='s 226,188 square inchesand 1 18 inch subwoofer(s) ='s 254,4615 square inches //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

how does the number of coil affect performance? anyway i probably won't be using all the 1500+/- from the 1606d at 1ohm since it's pretty borderline for this sub

its a dvc 2ohm btw, so 1ohm at the amp in that case

Anybody experiment it? how does it compared to other 18's in the sq department
Difference is negligable on surface area. You said you wanted the 18" sealed, so its going to take more power to get it louder. But nevermind, enjoy. You'll see what I mean when you spend money and get nowhere quickly.

yeah but the ava seems extremly efficient. 27mm of xmax vs the 18mm of the type r could help a little, will it?

And like i said i'm not all about SPL. I'm pretty sure the ava18 and the type r arent in the same Sound Quality category so here the reason of this swap

well i only blast the subs at full tilt when friends want to be impress.. I would said that these days the subs are pretty much off 50% of the time so i can hear the impressive midbass from the id's component

Yeah definitely dont expect an increase in output, with the power handling of it and the sealed enclosure it will likely be a bit more quite.
what about making the box ported? recone possibilty?

from what i've read on the ca, caf, ssa, diyma and everywhere on the net, this sub is a lowend monster. Loud and nice sound too

No.
Not gonna happen in a trunk, it would be a waste to do any type of build in for that sub.

1k and run it sealed. Otherwise its not the sub for you.
could you explain a little more? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

By saying not gonna happen in a trunk are you talking about the fact that i won't be using it in a home theater? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif My car is an hatchback if it mather

Not running the amp at full tilt is not a problem for my. My alt will thank my in the end.

So this sub is not good at all ported?

I'm kinda on a buget with vacation coming up... i would prefer to invest into a single sub and an 18 have alway been one of my dream.
