I took Ur advice car audio now I need help

I have an American Bass VFL 4480, and 2 Soundqubed HDS312 in a box that I built. This will put you at around 600, not sure how much alternators are but you honestly dont need one. Get someone to make you a box or try getting a design and building one yourself. Box should cost around 100

I found a set of R's with a box for three fifty and a battery for 157 I also seen a 150alt for 200 all on eBay I don't know how good the stuff is but I wanted to get some advice from people that know what they t doing I want to try to get all of the watts to the subs
I have a little XS Power D680 I'd sell for $60+shipping. It might be little but it helped me a ton.

Ok you have a grand to spend and you are looking for output right?

Choice 1 :

sub amp: (remember we are on a budget) Audiopipe apsm2000 running in 1 ohm (about 1600 rms clean) 176.00 from ebay

Subs: 2 sundown e12's v2's d4 running in 1 ohm in about 5 cubic feet tuned to 33-35 htz $220 for the pair

Mid/high amp: PPI phantom 900.4 (does like 240rms per channel clean) 185.00 from amazon

Mid/high speakers: 2 sets of infinity kappas 6.5's $70.00 shipped per set= $140.00

Batt: die hard 1000 cca SEALED battery 130.00

Don't worry about the alt at this time the stock alt coupled with the xtra batt will keep up (barley) just save the money you have left over add a couple of hundred to it and get you an alt later.

I have run this setup in many customers/friends cars with great results. Although the apsm amp is very budget oriented they will put out 1600 rms clean just set your gains properly and dont get greedy with it. The sundown e series v2 is a great sub for the money very durable good sound and a great warranty. EMF audio have the e12 v1's b stock on sale for $86.00 you could go with 4 of the v1's and just barely go over your budget. The mid/high amp I suggested is a lil beast for less than 185.00 shipped on amazon you get 240rms @ 2 ohm stereo x 4 set your gains conservative and it will really make a set of 6.5's rock. I Suggested the infinity kappas because they are very tough little mids and get very very loud off this amp. Then just get you a 1000 amp rated SEALED battery from a parts store like autozone and Bamm you have a pretty loud setup with decent sound quality.

I ran this same setup in my suv for a while with very good results. Output is pretty good, my wife/friends found it uncomfortable to listen to it at full tilt. The mids and highs are very crisp and bright. I had no equipment failure, and I often tortured the equipment on 5hr drives in 110 degree west texas summers.

So I'm going with a alt from mylow10 two hds300 12's and a Q1-2200 I will be over budget but it will be right so I will be happy
thats what i would do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

At first, I thought the alternator in your car would do fine, and it might, but I think it is only a 75 amp alternator. If that is the case, it might not do so well. But rather than buy some ridiculously large one, you might look at larger ones made for other models of civics that would do, like this: Honda Civic Del Sol High Output 130Amp Alternator 96 00 Reman | eBay

130 amp alternator for 100 bucks made for the del sol of the same year. Again, your alternator may work, I would try to do your build without upgrading it and see how it works out. Should you have issues with voltage, grab one of these and for a hundred bucks you can nearly double your charging capabilities.

willing to bet his factory alt can put out more amps at idle and last way longer then some cheapo ebay alt.

Willing to bet you didn't click the link and look at the company selling the product. The price is right because it is a remanufactured alt. made for the same car, but a model that has a need for higher amperage. Often people buy high output alts. when they could just buy one that makes the juice they need that is made for a model of their vehicle that came with a stronger one. The factory alt for his Honda was made by Mitsubishi, as is this alt.. I didn't go looking on ebay for this, I went looking for a more powerful alt. built in the same case and found it, so happened it was being sold on ebay amongst other places.

Before I post anything on here, you can be sure that it is either something I learned first hand, or something I have looked into. I won't just regurgitate information or misinformation. If you have first hand knowledge of this product, then by all means, please share your experience.

^^^^^^

Exactly !!

I always laugh when guys buy a 500$ for 200 amps of output when you can usually get a higheroutput alt for a different model that will work just as well for a 1/4th of the money.

I like all your choices but the amp... Not that it is not a great amp but you can get a whole lot more watts for a whole lot less money. For 400$ There is several American bass 120.1 and 150.1 's open box but new otherwise on ebay.

Or a brand new american bass 4480 hybrid amp for like 260-270 shipped. also they are very very efficient to the point that if you just had 120 amp alt that would be enough.

What are you doing for mid/high amp??? your gonna need somthing if you want to here the words of any song.

If you are willing to go used there is a q2200 and an hcd18 in the classifieds might b willing to come off the price a lil.

I just think you can do much better for the money.

Check out a american bass 4480 and put it on two sundown sa12's that is a nasty setup and if you go with somthing like the ppi phantom 900.4 you would not need the alt both amps are very efficient.

There is just know way I would spend 4-5 hundred on an alt unless I needed 300 amps
