I saw two 160+db vehicles today

Cool, it's always fun seeing vehicles that can do really big numbers. There's a guy named Joey around here that does 169 with two RE SX 12's and minimal wattage...in an ugly van. Pretty impressive to say the least.
is 169 what you meant to type? Good lord if so - that would blow my mind

thats what i was wondering. which mic they used. I have no idea
The sensor they used was in a metal spherical cage-type thing if that helps at all. Im fairly unfamiliar with audiocontrol/termlab/sensor equipment
they use that sphere to measure spl in the kick. 166 in the kick would be about 163 or so on the dash //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i needa do some research on this metering/competition style business. im gonna try to get more SPL interest in Washington this next year. theres literally zero legit comps up there.

Its just a Termlab mic inside a globe so that competitors cant stick it in some random pocket in their kick that gains them ton

Keeps it fair, in a central location in kick for everyone

yea there was almost nothing here until last year, when they decided to hold usaci WF's here lol

How much is minimal wattage? Wow.
I only got a little sneak peek of the back of his van, but he's only running one amp...granted it's at 16+V. He ran in a couple of classes, one being my class(pro 0-400, where the biggest amp you can have does 1600 watts at 1ohm), and he did a 164+ with that power...all sealed up, but TL in the kick.

Now that I checked, it's a 168.9...check the second post.

Its funny when people spout off numbers
Check above...it's funny when smartasses get their foot put in their mouth.

yeah i didnt wanna say anything, but i would love proof of that 169! if he did a 169 on SX 12's, my 18's are no longer for sale.
Needless to say, it's a VERY intricate box/cabin design. It's an extreme van, so there's A LOT of work done inside.

That does not look like 12 SXs buddy:
what do you mean...? There's two subs there...I looked inside the vehicle myself.

edit: just saw the other pics...he must have switched out subs for a few shows or something. But at the show I went to he had the SX's in there and did a 166+ with ease. You know as well as I do that the subs don't matter all that much, like how Alan Dante only dropped ~4db going from a DDZ10 to a 3510 in the same install.
