I saw two 160+db vehicles today

I would like to know this team that protested the 40.1. I can tell you one thing, it wasn't ours.

Joey D is a great competetor. Knows his ish and works hard to get what he wants out of a vehicle. Last I saw he had an audiopipe amp on the two subs, but sure he switched since then.

4-12's could do a 66, but need power behind them to get it done. A 64 in an s-10 isn't uncommon right now in 1801-3000.

I understand that on a good pit of power you can do mid 60s but for 3 12's if its in a stock vehicle not 16-18v set up doing a 164 with 3 12's I want to see it!

As far as the team that protested it I think I have a good idea who did!!

Walled car, Plymouth Horizon. Super Street in dB Drag. 3,500w per sub. Since its outlaw the sensor can be placed in the kick or right in front of a sub.

I was just testing one day for fun and was doing low to mid 160s. Went up a dB with driver door open to 164. The did a 171 in the port.

Street C car in Europe is doing 162s on the dash with 4 10s. And thats a stock type setup. Now thats impressive.

And if you have any experience with SPL in those chevy trucks, it is really tough to do big numbers on the dash legally. I have seen as much as 6 dB difference between outlaw and legal scores in those trucks.

Thats why I was asking about the placement of the woofers. I know mine has been a ***** to get loud. I don't know of a single extended cab truck (non blow through) that does a 160+.

I dont remember ever seeing an extended cab doing 160s either.

We have a CK3500 crew cab dually and the dash is just not shaped well at all. s-10s are the same way. They are just really hard to get loud. The dash shape creates a pocket too small to allow a low frequency wave to enter properly, so there is always a low pressure eddy formed at the front lip of the dash. This kills SPL.

They can sound loud, but they dont hit the mic hard. So it makes alot more sense that this guy did a 166 in the port. Otherwise its too unbelievable unless it was a fiat panda.
